Reynolds’s apparatus The apparatus demonstrates the principle of laminar & turbulent flow and determination of Reynolds number for various flow rates. The apparatus consists of a water supply tank to which a glass tube is connected and enters at the center of glass tube cross section. For laminar flow condition, stick is clearly viable, but in turbulent flow, the die line diffuses. The flow is controlled by a valve. The apparatus is simple to open and gives clear visualization to students.
SPECIFICATIONS
1. Glass tube – (Transparent) – 25mm. O. D. of suitable length.
2. Supply tank and dye tank with die needle.
3. Flow control valve.
4. Measuring flask and stop clock for flow measurement for conventional & recirculating type.
5. Sump tank and recirculating pump fro recirculating equipment.
SERVICES REQUIRED
1. Floor space area – 2 m. X 2 m.
2. Water supply at the rate of 10-15 lit/min. (For conventional equipments)
