Genuine Porsche purge valve assembly. Part of the evaporative emissions system, the purge valve assembly is a fairly common problem on the 4.5 V8 Cayenne models. Failure can lead to a check engine / malfunction indicator light for a leak detected in the EVAP system. The job of the purge valve is to meter evaporated fuel into the intake of the engine while it is running. An emissions function to keep unburned hydrocarbons out of the atmosphere. If you’ve ever noticed that your Cayenne is hard to start after filling the gas tank this is another indicator that it has failed and is allowing fuel vapors into the engine when it should not. Fits:
